Our story
Masjid Darul Iman and the Islamic Center of Markham are central to the vibrant Muslim community in Markham. Beyond a place of worship, we cater to the religious, educational, social, and recreational needs of our community. Our services and facilities are detailed throughout our website.
We host interfaith outreach programs, community events, and fundraising activities for local hospitals and support global disaster relief efforts through local NGOs.

Our mission
To fulfil the spiritual and educational needs of the community, to instill Islamic family values, foster the development of community, promote interfaith relationship, social and civic engagements, and better understanding of Islam.
Our vision
To develop and maintain a religiously vibrant, peaceful, tolerant Islamic organization based on teachings of Qur’an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

Our Governance Model
The Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Islamic Centre of Markham and Masjid Darul Iman all serve as unpaid volunteers with no financial gains, and only volunteer for the sake of pleasing Allah (SWT) and serving the community.
The financials are audited by an independent arm of Chartered Accountants. The Centre is a registered Canadian charity with the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA). Registration number #890751795RR0001
All decisions are made based on a Shura-governance structure, which means all decisions made are contingent upon having a quorum and are mashwara-based plus subject to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
